I have a samsung focus and the PhotoSynth app works on it even though I dont have a Gyro in the device. I created one last week posted here… http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=2b528048-3cb0-426e-a63c-66469c218305

I think it may just be easier for the app to match up the pictures with the gyro. I know from inital testing if I moved too far I had to move back so they overlapped the previous picture more so it could match up (guessing). No idea how it would be different under newer device.

I also have a samsung Focus, and the app works great. I believe the current motion sensors compensate for the missing gyroscope.
After i downloaded the app and used it, i’ve been glued to bing maps on my pc looking at photosynth images from different countries.
