Great show! But where can I get that Tim Cook remix?
Great Show! I too would really like to have a copy of this remix…
Do you guys seriously think 16GB is enough on a smartphone that costs around $500? I’d like to see you ask your audience what they think about that.
@GDub_ I had concerns about 16GB, even going back to a simple MP3 player not to mention a smartphone. I think 16GB is a good number considering the use of cloud services. Admittedly I added a 32GB microSD card in my Samsung Focus and to day I do not think I have surpassed 14GB of used space. This includes periods where podcasts had been stacking up because I wasn’t listening as well as other clean up tasks (pictures, etc…). Now I have to say that it takes some planning. To compare I have a ZuneHD that has ample space for my complete collection so everything (music, videos, podcasts) syncs to that. For my WindowsPhone however only defined playlists are synced to my device. I thought that would be a point of grievance as I didn’t want to spend that much time managing my synched items, but using the Auto-Playlists function in the Zune software makes it a breeze.
I’m actually on the other side of this argument. Currently I use a hd7 16gb and a Zune HD 32gb and I find that because the space on my phone is so limited, I tend not to put media on it. And on top of that I’m looking into buying a zune HD 64gb because I have no space left my zune now. Its all about how people manage their content. I wish I can be better about choosing what I do/don’t need but I like having “everything”. Yes I do have zune pass and could stream music to my phone but I don’t do it a lot because of battery constraints and availability of a signal (I live in NYC), also I may have obscure music that zune just don’t have. Add to that, zune doesn’t have a streaming video service yet and video files are pretty “fat” to store on your devices. I think most people are like me and have to be taught to do things differently with the cloud and streaming but right now we still like having space. Obviously if we aren’t given those capabilities, we’ll learn faster (like how apple teaches) but I’m lazy and want my space for a good price.
I agree. Also I like to go running in the woods where I have lousy 3G reception. So streaming is pretty useless to me most of the time when I want to listen to music.
I was looking for a good windows phone podcast and the Damian Mehers interview was good. Unfortunately the rest of this episode sounded like a couple of teenagers in their moms basement. Anyone have any recommendations for a professional wp7 podcast?
Haha, thanks for the feedback, Alan. Have you tried listening to prior episodes?
